Top things to do in Edison, New Jersey.

When we first started writing this article we had the thought to create a list of the top three things we want you to visit in Edison. However, once we started to brainstorm all the ideas that could fit on that list, we quickly found out that the list is simply too small. This town is full of fun activities, and making a top three list of the things you need to visit, simply would not do this beautiful township justice. That’s why we have decided to create a bigger list. So with that in mind, we present to you our list for the top things to do in Edison.

Roosevelt Park

A beautiful landscape of a park

We are proud to start off this list by a piece of historical gem. Roosevelt Park was founded in the 1930s, making it the oldest park in Middlesex County. This park offers beautiful 217 acres of land to be explored.  It has everything you might need for a casual afternoon out. Roller Skating rinks, hiking trails, trails for jogging running or walking. Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that this park also has some cute cozy places where you can picnic or start up your own barbeque. However, there’s also an ice skating rink! This park is open every season of the year, so you can enjoy its wonders year-round! So, don’t wait for a second more and hire moving services NJ and see what all the fuss is about.

Thomas Edison Museum

Thomas Alva Edison
The township got its name from the late and great Thomas Edison.

We have not mentioned this earlier, but you can probably already deduce from where the township has gotten its name. Yep, you guessed correctly: Thomas Edison. Why? Well, do you remember his nickname the wizard of Menlo? Menlo is a park located in the township of Edison. So to honor him, and his work, they opened up a museum and renamed the town from Raritan Township to Edison. That’s all well and good but why should you visit the Edison Museum? Well, we are glad you asked. We have mentioned above that people visit Roosevelt Park when it’s good weather. So, if it’s rainy outside you won’t go to the park of course! So where should you go?

Well to the Edison Museum of course! It’s a small cottage that’s packed with amazing items and knowledgeable tour guides. What’s there not to love? It’s one of the wonders that make it one of the best tourist attractions in New Jersey.

Two bonus locations: The Edison Tower and the Edison Center

While on the topic of Thomas Edison, we would be remiss if we did not mention the other structures that were built in honor of the great inventor Thomas Edison, the wizard of Menlo. So alongside the Edison Museum, you could also visit:

The Edison Tower. We recommend you give this awesome landmark a visit. It’s been recently renovated, making it a beautiful sight for sore eyes. So if you are feeling down and want to learn more about Thomas Edison, you should definitely visit the Edison Tower since there are some historic light bulbs, phonographs, and electric train test tracks to explore!

Thomas Edison Center at Menlo Park. If you like history then you are going to love the Thomas Edison Center. It’s a small museum, not that far from the highway. You will be greeted with extremely friendly and polite staff who are all very smart and passionate about what they do. They are ready and willing to ask all your questions! They really are the key to the tour. A definite must-visit item!

Cypress Brewing Company

If all that history talk has made you a bit thirsty or may be hungry, you should definitely visit the Cypress Brewing Co. It’s an amazing brewery that is located in an industrial building that offers free parking. What’s there not to like? The pints are amazing, and the company even more so. People often come here when they have a layover flight. Yea, it’s that good! So don’t wait any longer. Rent an apartment in New Jersey and visit Cypress Brewing Co!

In conclusion

Edison is a township in New Jersey. It has around 100,00 people. However, that shouldn’t make you pass on this city. If you have the opportunity to move here, we strongly advise you to do that. The reason for that is because it has an awesome community, and it offers great services. You can’t simply get a service like that in some larger cities. So if that sounds like something you are looking for you should definitely move to Edison. Picnicking in Roosevelt Park, learning about Thomas Edison and drinking ale in one of the best brewers the state has to offer, is just the tip of the iceberg of activities you can do here. However, don’t take our word for it, why don’t you have a look for yourself?
